Monitor moves over to PostgreSQL as database manager

SQL Anywhere is nearing the end of its life cycle. As a result, Monitor will replace SQL Anywhere with PostgreSQL, a powerful and flexible database manager, for future development and operation.

As a customer, this means your data needs to be migrated to the new database. We plan to complete the migration process in 2025 and 2026. You will be informed well in advance of your migration, and we will ensure that the process is as smooth as possible for your business.

To help you prepare, we've gathered some important information below. We recommend that you read this material to get a clear picture of what the change entails, and how you can prepare.

Frequently asked questions:

What happens if I haven't changed database managers and converted databases before the deadline?

We will end support for SQL Anywhere at a later stage. When this happens, it will no longer be possible to update Monitor if migration to PostgreSQL has not been carried out. The end date is not yet determined, but information will be provided well before we end support for SQL Anywhere.

What lead time/waiting time can we expect if we need help from your adaptation team to convert our existing products?

Our standard delivery times apply, and depending on how complex a solution is required, this may vary. A normal delivery time is four to eight weeks.

Will the Monitor API be affected by the switch?

The Monitor API will not be affected by the transition from SQL Anywhere to PostgreSQL.
