Under the leadership of CEO, Kelvin Ngow, the company set up a roasting facility in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, to cater to the growing appreciation for exceptional coffee in the region.
Inspired by Melbourne's vibrant coffee culture, Kelvin spearheaded initiatives such as Malaysia’s first barista competition in 2006, providing a platform for baristas to showcase their craft and passion.

In their pursuit of excellence, Coffex Coffee recognized the need to enhance operational efficiency. The adoption of Monitor ERP marked a significant milestone in this journey. Kelvin observed that implementing the system significantly reduced manpower needs and interdepartmental requests, leading to a remarkable improvement in efficiency. Stock level accuracy also soared to 90%, addressing previous challenges in inventory management.

Previously, Coffex Coffee used a system with limited functionality alongside Excel spreadsheets, which often led to delays and inaccuracies. Warehouse Assistant Manager, Jeffrey Jeremiah, highlighted that the lack of real-time data made stock tracking inefficient, resulting in out-of-stock situations. With Monitor ERP, warehouse operations have been transformed—real-time stock monitoring and automated replenishment now ensure smoother operations and better inventory control.

Financial Controller, MK Tang, reported significant improvements in order processing times and the billing process: "With Monitor ERP, billing staff can now check stock availability and expiry dates in just 10 minutes—from customer order to invoice approval. Previously, this process took 30 to 45 minutes to complete." This efficiency has allowed staff to complete their tasks within regular working hours, maintaining a better work-life balance and enhancing overall productivity.

Their MONO Origine initiative exemplifies this dedication, aiming to combat climate change and promote sustainable and fair practices in the coffee industry. The MONO Origine line emphasizes responsible production from beans to packaging. This initiative reflects their dedication to environmental stewardship and delivering high-quality, ethically sourced coffee to their customers. By introducing MONO to the Malaysian market, Coffex Coffee aspires to create awareness and foster a community that values sustainable and conscious consumption.

The seamless integration of Monitor ERP has also streamlined compliance and quality assurance processes, empowering Coffex Coffee to uphold its environmental and social responsibilities. Senior Manager of Operations & Compliance, Liz Tan, highlighted that the system meets compliance standards, aligns with MIDA grant applications, and supports Readiness Assessments. She emphasized the importance of reducing errors to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to food safety standards, all managed within one system.
