System recommendations for Monitor ERP (G5)
These recommendations were drawn up by Monitor ERP System AB to ensure your server environment is sufficiently equipped to handle Monitor G5.
We recommend following these requirements to ensure the best possible experience when using Monitor G5, and avoiding performance issues.

Hardware requirements are determined fully by the number of users in Monitor and the size of the database. A small installation works well on a Small Business Server or other existing server, provided there are sufficient resources available in the form of main memory and hard drive space.
For large installations, we recommend that the Monitor database server is installed on a separate Windows server. This may be physical or virtual.
The Monitor database server must be adapted as a traditional SQL server. This requires a substantial amount of main memory, fast redundant drives and a fast CPU.
To ensure the best possible operational reliability in clients and servers, we recommend that you purchase all hardware (database server, work stations, printers and network equipment) from well-known manufacturers. Before purchasing equipment, check with your IT provider and the team here at Monitor.
Server
The server hardware should be purchased from a well-known manufacturer. The hardware should not be more than five years old. If a virtual server is used, it must have dedicated performance.
Memory
Both the application server and database server require a large amount of memory in order not to cause high hard disk load. The system optimizes itself. Data used frequently is read to the memory (RAM).
Processor
Both the application and database server use multi-threading to be able to handle many users at the same time. The server CPU should therefore have many cores with a high clock frequency.
Operating system
Windows Server Standard-/Datacenter versions supported by Microsoft Mainstream support. The operating system should always include the latest updates.
Other requirements
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 must be installed. To ensure full functionality in Monitor, there must be a domain to link the server to.
Hard drive
For the disk space on the server, you should take into account the software as well as space for the future download of program updates. Disk space is also required for databases and backup files for a number of days for these databases.
Example: In the recommendation below regarding server capacity it is assumed that both the application server and the database server run on the same computer, and that no other software runs on it. The requirements may vary substantially depending on the number of users and the amount of data handled in the system. The recommendation is based on a standard workflow with a normal amount of data.

The client does not use multi-threading. We recommend a minimum of 2.4 GHz CPU with 2–4 cores.

Windows Pro-/Enterprise versions supported by Microsoft Mainstream support. The operating system should always include the latest updates.
Other programs
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 must be installed.
Hard drive
At least 10% available, or 10 GB.
Graphics
The recommended resolution is 1920 × 1080 pixels.

Monitor Cloud
You’ll need:
- A fixed IP address to the internet (static or reserved).
- Your own Windows AD.
- A firewall with support for IPsec (Internet Protocol Security), with capacity for a minimum of 2 Mbit per second and user.
- A Windows operating system for which Microsoft provides support.
- As low latency as possible, to provide the best possible experience. Under 30 milliseconds is recommended.
