From a gap-year placement to the management team - Follow Jonas Lundin’s journey at Monitor ERP
26 april 2024
When Jonas Lundin started at Monitor ERP in 2013, he was a gap-year student, a so-called “mellanåring”, fresh from his technology program at high school. The gap-year program is aimed at young people in Hudiksvall, and combines one year’s work experience with academic study, between high school and university. For Jonas, this was a fantastic opportunity to get a year’s work experience, but it would turn out to be more than that.
What attracted you to Monitor ERP?
When I applied to the gap-year program, I got to apply to three places. I chose Monitor as my first choice as I wanted to continue working in tech. It is important to me that I continue to develop my skills in this area.
Tell us a little about your journey with us
When I first started, I was developing customer-specific forms and E-modules. Before my gap-year was over, I managed to secure a temporary role and then got a permanent role as a developer. I then focused on developing apps which lead to an even larger adaptation project. From 2020 I was a temporary team leader, and since 2021 I have been a development manager in the Extensions Development Department. I am also on the management team.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
It involves everything from development and management of product questions to staffing, such as recruitment and skills supply. We work in many different areas when it comes to skills supply and place a lot of emphasis on finding young talents through, among other things, the gap year, internships, and our own trainee program. Additionally, we have many attractive positions available that can be applied for.
You have been on the management team since 2023, how do you find that?
It is fantastic to be a part of the management team. Being a part of the company’s journey and contributing to its positive development and growth is unbelievably inspiring.
What is the best thing about your job?
The variety and the opportunity to make an impact, as well as finding solutions to problems and always making progress.
Do you recommend others to work here?
Absolutely! Being part of the forward-thinking atmosphere where everyone constantly strives to improve and work as a team is great fun. There are all possibilities here regardless of whether one has previous experience or comes as an intern.
How do you see the future?
Bright. Things are happening all the time and always with a forward-looking perspective, everyone is rowing in the same direction. The company is expanding into several markets, which means a very exciting time ahead. On a personal level, I am constantly developing by facing new challenges.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy working on projects around the house or in the garage. I also have a great motoring interest which also takes up a lot of my time, as I like working on vehicles or riding scooters and quads with friends.
