MONITOR G5 is completely based on new technology and is designed in a three-tier architecture: user interface, business logic, and database. All business logic is located on the server and a thin client only presents the user interface. The user can now freely place different features and functions on the new and interactive desktop, such as the loading plan, shortcuts to favorite procedures, or links to websites. Powerful technology together with the modern but yet familiar user interface gives you a better system to work with.

In MONITOR G5 there are tens of thousands of news and improvements. A few examples are a pre-calculation and a net requirement calculation up to twenty times as fast, brand new work flows for delivery planning, and also small but powerful improvements such as being able to use more characters in part numbers and the ability to add images in comments and additional text rows. All news have been incorporated because of one single purpose – to satisfy your need of an ERP system at the highest level – which is efficient and easy to work in.
Efficient planning
We have taken our unique specialization in production and logistics to the next level in MONITOR G5. With a more transparent master plan and an improved detail planning (planning by the hour) you now get an even better control of your production processes. Visual planning, Coordinated processing, and Pool planning provide you with useful tools to help you increase the productivity of your business.
Access on the go
In MONITOR G5 there is an app for smartphones/tablets where you always have access to your information – no matter where you are! This app is a standard feature. Salespersons can see information about customers and quotes directly in their smartphone and the person working in a warehouse can use the app to perform stock-count and arrival/delivery reporting. Other examples of features easily managed in the app are authorization of invoices and authorizing attendance/work recording.
A flexible standard system
MONITOR G5 is – just like its predecessor – a “turn-key” system with many reports and document templates ready to use. But now we can offer functionality where you can modify the design/layout of all documents by using a visual document template. You can also create your own lists with your specific contents and have it presented in a way that fits your needs. In the Business Intelligence it is also possible to construct your views from scratch and then present your information in a clear way.

Which are the benefits of upgrading?
MONITOR G5 is adapted to the demands that exist – both today and in the future – for a leading ERP system. That is why you can see an upgrade to MONITOR G5 as future-proofing the ERP system in your business. Considering the news and improvements that exist in MONITOR G5, you will gain more from your daily work by being more efficient, with improved work flows and a clear, user-friendly interface.
Is it possible for our company to upgrade?
Since the standard functionality of MONITOR G5 is still being developed, the time when your company can upgrade depends on what functionality you are using in your current MONITOR ERP system, and if you have any supplements/options and/or adaptations. To be able to give you a preliminary answer on when your company might be able to upgrade to MONITOR G5, we first need to go over your current system. This process is performed as a dialog with you and can be started after you have registered your interest for MONITOR G5. You register your interest by filling out the form at the bottom of the page.
How much does it cost to upgrade?
For existing customers there is no charge to upgrade the standard software to MONITOR G5. It is included in the update agreement! Services performed by Monitor are not included and will be charged on a continuous basis.
How do we register our interest in upgrading?
At the bottom of this page you find a form where you can register your interest in upgrading to MONITOR G5. When you send us the form we can begin to go over your system to see if your company can be upgraded to MONITOR G5.
How does an upgrade work?
An upgrade to MONITOR G5 follows a guide in five steps where Monitor personnel in close cooperation with you go through each step.
Step one: We map which functions you use in your current MONITOR ERP system to be able to provide a preliminary time for when you can upgrade to MONITOR G5. A check is made to ensure that the hardware requirements are met. Taking the first step in the guide does not obligate you to complete an upgrade to MONITOR G5.
Step two: We check your database, perform a test conversion, and install MONITOR G5 on server and clients. All of this is carried out by remote access.
Step three: This step involves your personnel getting to know the system, simulating work items with information from the test converted database, and going through and documenting the company’s information flows.
Step four: In this step of the upgrade, the final conversion of the database is performed which provides you with current data in the system. This is carried out by remote access.
Step five: In the final step, a synchronization is made of documented system settings, user rights settings, and documents. Here, the actual start-up, the Go Live, is done in your company.
We have adaptations in our MONITOR ERP system, what will happen with these during an upgrade?
Many functions that earlier required adaptations in MONITOR are now covered by standard functions in MONITOR G5. Furthermore, in MONITOR G5 you can create your own document adaptations and reports. If it turns out that adaptation of the program will be necessary, Monitor will provide you with a quote regarding these in step one of the upgrade guide.
We have several companies, do all companies have to upgrade to MONITOR G5 at the same time?
Companies may have different prerequisites regarding upgrading to MONITOR G5, since they use different work methods and functions. If it turns out that some of the companies are possible to upgrade to MONITOR G5 while some of the other companies use functions that are still being developed, then you can split the companies that can upgrade to MONITOR G5 to a separate installation. The company/companies that cannot upgrade to MONITOR G5 at this point will then keep using their current version of MONITOR.
Will training of our personnel be required in connection with an upgrade to MONITOR G5?
Experienced MONITOR users will feel at home in MONITOR G5 and will easily find and understand both new and old functionality in the program. For user-specific applications of the program and for advanced users, we always recommend that the transition to MONITOR G5 is supervised by one of our consultants. They can in each specific case offer advice on how your company can use MONITOR G5 in the best way.
Our company uses MONITOR Basic. Can we upgrade to MONITOR G5?
There is no basic version of MONITOR G5. If you are interested in upgrading to MONITOR G5, please contact us for a quote.
For how long will we be able to use the current version of MONITOR ERP system?
Since a few years back, we at Monitor ERP System AB decided that we should stop with the development of what we are calling Monitor G4, the previous generation of our ERP-system. Since then, all our focus is to develop and improve the latest version of Monitor - G5.
We have made sure that Monitor G4 follows country-based law and authority-demands during a transition-period, to ensure that everyone can upgrade to G5 without any problems. This transition-period is now about to end, so after the 31th of December 2023, there will be no more development of Monitor G4.
Therefore, we strongly recommend that everyone who is still using Monitor G4 should upgrade their systems to Monitor G5 before the end of 2023, to ensure that you are following current law- and authority-demands.
We will keep supporting Monitor G4 until the 31th of December 2025, but with heavily reduced forces.
