From manual to automated – Eco Log optimizes their processes with PDM integration
For Eco Log, a leading manufacturer of forestry machinery, the pursuit of efficiency and high-quality data is what led them to implementing PDM integration. Thanks to PDM integration, Eco Log has successfully been able to automate the transfer of data between their product data management (PDM) and Monitor ERP, which has eliminated duplication of work and reduced the risk of errors.
“Prior to the PDM integration, we entered basic data for part and bills of material into Monitor manually. It was a time-consuming job, and it was easy to make a mistake, for example when typing out part numbers,” says Magnus Andersson, Business Developer at Eco Log.
It was clear that the process between the PDM and the ERP system needed to be automated. When Eco Log heard that Monitor was working on an integration tool tailored to systems such as Windchill, they were quick to book a meeting. Since implementing the PDM integration, Eco Log have seen clear improvement.
The quality of data has significantly improved and the time it takes to create parts and bills of material has been drastically reduced.
“The quality of data has significantly improved and the time it takes to create parts and bills of material has been drastically reduced,” adds Magnus.
The PDM integration has also facilitated document management and created a better feedback loop, meaning that part names are continuously being improved.
“We now avoid making any manual mistakes and can spend more time on work that adds value. It’s advantageous that we can avoid duplicating work and can use the time we have saved on more important work,” concludes Magnus.
