Sunfab has taken a strategic step forward by upgrading to G5

After using Monitor ERP for over 30 years, Sunfab, which is based in Hudiksvall, Sweden, has upgraded from G4 to G5. David Olsson, project manager for G5 at Sunfab, shares their journey with us and tells us about the possibilities that the upgrade has brought to the company.

“We have been using Monitor ERP since 1992, so deciding to upgrade to G5 was the natural choice. As our entire organization, including our six daughter companies in Europe, USA, and Malaysia, uses Monitor ERP, it is used in all our processes in one way or another. By working this way, we are continually developing and making our business more efficient,” says David.

To ensure that Sunfab can continue to be a world-leading mobile hydraulics company, they need an ERP system that can be developed alongside them.

G4 has served us well, but the rate at which it is developing has slowed down. We are looking forward to making our processes even more efficient with G5.

Sunfab carefully planned the upgrade. In August 2023 they created a project group which focused on testing and providing training prior to the upgrade.

“A key factor in the project’s success is that we were highly ambitious when preparing and we took the time that was needed to carry out the project. Our commitment played a significant role in the upgrade going smoothly. We have also moved our database server to an SQL server, thereby future-proofing our usage of Monitor ERP,” says David.

The upgrade to G5 means that Sunfab is now able to continue their growth and development.

“We are particularly looking forward to using Monitor ERP’s Sustainability by Monitor which will help us when it comes to creating sustainability reports. We believe this will be greatly beneficial to our sustainability work,” added David.
