From manual to automated – Eco Log optimizes their processes with PDM integration
For Eco Log, a leading manufacturer of forestry machinery, the pursuit of efficiency and high-quality data led them to implement PDM integration. Thanks to this integration, Eco Log has successfully automated the transfer of data between their product data management (PDM) system and Monitor ERP, eliminating duplication of work and reducing the risk of errors.
“Prior to the PDM integration, we manually entered basic data for parts and bills of material into Monitor. It was a time-consuming task, and it was easy to make mistakes, such as typing incorrect part numbers,” says Magnus Andersson, Business Developer at Eco Log.
It quickly became clear that the process between the PDM and ERP systems needed to be automated. When Eco Log learned that Monitor was developing an integration tool tailored to systems like Windchill, they promptly scheduled a meeting. Since implementing the PDM integration, Eco Log has seen significant improvements.
The quality of data has significantly improved, and the time required to create parts and bills of material has been drastically reduced.
The PDM integration has also streamlined document management and established a better feedback loop, enabling continuous improvements to part names.
“We now avoid manual errors and can dedicate more time to value-adding tasks. It’s a significant advantage to eliminate duplicate work and invest the time we've saved in more important activities,” concludes Magnus.
