How Monitor ERP helps J5L-Production Oy with their sustainability

To strengthen its position in sustainability and the rapidly evolving business world, the Finnish company J5L-Production Oy, which manufactures specialist vehicles, realized it needed a new, powerful ERP system. After careful consideration, they chose Monitor ERP.

In 2021, J5L-Production Oy started working on a business project which focused on sustainable growth and international expansion. Their goal was to find an ERP system which actively promotes sustainable development. By choosing Monitor ERP, the company did not only upgrade technologically, but also made a strategic investment in the future.

“The will to drive things forward and continually develop has always been at the center of our company. We finally have an ERP system developed for manufacturing,” says Jarkko Repo, Co-owner of J5L-Production Oy.

J5L-Production Oy takes its responsibility for the environment seriously. That is why Monitor ERP’s environmental functionality, Sustainability by Monitor, is perfect for them. Sustainability by Monitor helps them to measure, evaluate, and reduce their impact on the environment.

Alongside financial competitiveness, carbon footprint calculations are becoming increasingly important. We want to be the first in our field to use carbon footprint calculations as a competitive advantage.

The business specializes in manufacturing specialist vehicles for governmental use. Prior to using Monitor ERP, they used six different programs to run their company which made work even more complicated as they did not have an IT department to help them when things went wrong. The implementation of Monitor ERP was a huge relief.

“We were helped with the implementation of Monitor ERP by Monitor’s consultant Sami Romppanen, who was with us from start to finish and ensured that everything worked,” says Jarkko Repo.

With Monitor ERP, J5L-Production Oy has taken a huge step towards producing more environmentally friendly vehicles and is now aiming to become more competitive by offering products with a reduced carbon footprint.

“Keeping an eye on the carbon dioxide calculation in the ERP system gives us a significant value-adding function. It is particularly valuable when the products’ carbon footprint, alongside price and delivery reliability, is a decisive factor in the procurement processes within government administration,” explains Jarkko Repo.
