New Features in G5, version 22.8
Here's a summary of the major new features in version 22.8 of Monitor G5, broken down by our teams that specialize in developing each area of the system. We hope you'll find it useful. For more information on all new development and changes in this version, read the Changelog at monitorerp.com/changelogs, where you can also watch a video rundown of the major new features in this version.
During this sprint we’ve applied some finishing touches to a host of features to make them more complete in functionality. Some other bigger jobs remain in progress.
Although delivered in the previous sprint, this functionality is also included in the Recording terminal – both in the Windows client and in Mobile client.
In the Product configurator in customer orders there is now functionality which copies selections to a new order row based on what was selected in previous rows. This means you don’t need to select the color, material, etc. that you wish to keep identical on multiple rows.
This function is activated on the individual option lists, where you can select to copy the individual option as well as the quantity of the selected option. If at a later stage you make a change on an order row, the program will ask if the same change should be made for other order rows with the same option list.
A number of smaller changes have been made relating to salary export:
A number of improvements have been made for post-calculations:
In the next sprint we'll continue to work with improvements to pre- and post-calculations. A more long-term project involves development for sub-quantities on order rows, which is easiest to understand if you think of them as sub-lengths. A rework of measuring data for subcontract operations is also in progress.
During the last sprint we've introduced the ability to include rows with the delivery status Shortage list on a picklist. In this sprint, we've added some functionality relating to this. We've also added the possibility to credit comprehensive invoices in Register customer agreement.
As mentioned above, it is now possible to credit a comprehensive invoice in Register customer agreement. If you've invoiced several agreements on a comprehensive invoice and want to generate a credit invoice, all rows from the comprehensive invoices are loaded into the Credit dialog. As part of this development, we've also made it possible to include specific rows on a credit – previously, it was only possible to credit the full invoice.
If a standard price on a part had more than 2 decimals, we only displayed 2 decimals in the Register quote procedure. If a standard price has more than 2 decimals in the Part register, we'll now display all decimals in the procedures Register quote, Register customer order and Register invoice directly.
As mentioned earlier, we made it possible to add rows with the delivery status Shortage list on a pick list in version 22.7. We've now enhanced this functionality by adding a document setting under the Documents tab in the Delivery planning procedure.
Using the document setting Show all part locations it is now possible to display all locations that are registered on a part, on the pick list.
We've also made some adjustments to the pick list document, if a row has delivery status Shortage list we will display this row with a red Asterix (*) in front of the part number. This indicates that the row has delivery status Shortage list.
We've added a new option when deleting customer orders. When you click the delete button in Register customer order, you'll now get a second option to delete the order inflow records.
As the dialog says, this is highly recommended if the order was registered by mistake. By selecting Delete order inflow, all order inflow posts will be deleted from the database. If you don’t select this setting, the customer order will still be shown in order inflow, but with a negative record, making the total order inflow = 0.
We've also added a new setting in the Order inflow procedure, where it's possible to select if deleted customer orders should be shown in the result. This is only applicable on orders where you have selected to keep the order inflow records.
Please note that if you've selected Delete order inflow in the Delete customer order-dialog (*explained above), the records will never be shown.
It is now possible to apply exceptions to the Shipping service, Shipping template, and enter the Additional services that will be used. When you create a shipment for a customer order, the Shipping service, Shipping template and Additional services are loaded by default from the Delivery method entered on the order – however, if you'd chosen to override these values on the customer order, these values will be loaded from the customer order.
There is now a new alternative for the import to an existing forecast code, where you can select to only replace the parts that are included in the import file.
We'll start working on adding the possibility to reserve an invoice number on a pro forma from the invoice basis. During this development we'll also plan to make it possible to create a pro forma from a pick list. Many users are required to have the same invoice number on the pro forma as it will be on the commercial invoice, and this aims to solve that issue.
We also plan to work with the fictitious structure dialog, and make it possible to re-open this dialog after the structure has been saved to the order row.
This sprint was focused mainly on fixing issues in the system which span multiple sprints. Below you'll find a selection of the features that have been released in version 22.8.
New document component for traceability structure
We've now made it possible to show the traceability structure for delivered serial numbers and batches on the document "Product description incl. certificate".
Event log
Stock counts are now visible in the event log.
Structure tree – filter for stock count
We’ve added a filter to hide stock counts that haven't changed stock balance.
Structure tree – performance improvements
The structure tree is now loaded in the background, so the user doesn't have to wait for the list to reload and open.
Total costs have been moved to the main row of the list. These columns were shown as a summary in the footer in previous versions.
It is now possible to set usage for a part template.
In total we've closed 49 development items during the sprint, which are a mix of country-specific developments as well as standard functionality and UI/UX improvements. Below you can read a summery of some of the developments carried out in this version.
The Edit tab in the Documents tab has been replaced by the "Edit invoice" button. This means editing of the invoice takes place in a separate window, that you can work with while viewing the invoice image. It also creates more space to see all the information in the edit mode without having to scroll.
Three new list types have been added for the purpose of checking/analyzing the data behind the VAT report. Previously, in version 22.5 of Monitor G5, we added the list type Detailed per VAT row, and in this version we've added the following list types:
A new list type, "Import overview", has been added. This list is displayed in companies with the options EIM and EIM Workflow. The list displays information about imported invoices, for instance, a selected day or period of time. If you work with automatic import of supplier invoices, this information can be useful to get a better overview of the automatically imported invoices. Invoices that are manually registered from the PDF inbox are not displayed in this list.
You can see information about the type of invoice that has been imported (E-invoice, Monitor-to-Monitor, from CrossState API), and to which inbox (where this data is available). The format of the invoice and the current status of the invoice are also displayed.
Fallback to supplier currency
Improvements regarding currency have been made when no interpreted currency is included from CrossState when importing supplier invoices. The currency for the selected supplier will be used as fallback during registration. Previously, the company currency was used as fallback.
E-mail address for deviation notification
It is now possible to enter an e-mail address for receiving messages about deviations in CrossState, by entering an e-mail address in the new field "E-mail for deviation notification" in the settings for export/import. That is when CrossState receives attachments for interpretation, that cannot be processed. We recommend that you enter an e-mail address in this new field, so you won't miss any information regarding eventual errors during uploading of invoices to CrossState.
The information and the icon on the notification during import of supplier invoices have been changed when the system setting "Check against recurring invoice numbers" set to "Warn", has been modified. The icon has been changed to a warning icon, to provide better information to the user.
Performance improvements have been made in the Accounts payable list and Register supplier invoice, as well as the inboxes for XML invoices.
During the next sprint we'll be focusing on the following areas:
This sprint has been dedicated to larger scale development, such as implementation of SharePoint, BI, and support for MSSQL.
We've begun development towards the support for cloud-based file management systems – starting with SharePoint.
The BI mining time has been reduced by over 30%.
The CPU spikes that could occur on some occasions are no longer an issue, making the overall performance of Monitor G5 even better.
