New in G5
Here we present a small selection of new functionality that has been developed in MONITOR G5 during the past six months. We will hereafter present this kind of information once every quarter.
Preliminary pick list
Preliminary pick list is a new function which is useful:
Stock and Management accounting
Stock accounting is a standard feature in MONITOR G5. It is used to continuously post all stock transactions in the system. This way the stock value in the Stock module matches the recorded value in the Accounting module. Changes in stock which are due to changed standard prices, direct stock reporting, arrivals and deliveries, stock count differences, nonconformities (cases), etc. will automatically be posted and give a better understanding of changes in stock and the company's gross profit margin in the income statement. Management accounting is an option in MONITOR G5, used to complement the stock accounting. Here all transactions for manufacturing orders (WIP value) in the system are continuously posted. These postings concern processing, subcontracting, and calculation differences. The invoicing log can also be posted via the management accounting.
Country package
We now have country packages for Denmark and Germany which include, for example:
Handle capacity via employees' attendance
The capacity of a work center can now be handled automatically via linked employee numbers and their planned absence.
Time zone per warehouse
It is now possible to select time zone per warehouse. This makes it possible to use local time for attendance recording and work recording, instead of the time of the server's clock. In addition, all logs will use the time zone of the warehouse. This applies to all logs in the system.
Delivery schedules with and without EDI
It is now possible to handle EDI schedules. This is divided into two portions, where one portion is the support for EDI import of delivery schedules and the other is the actual handling of registered and imported delivery schedules in the Sales module. In MONITOR, it is possible to register the delivery schedule either via EDI import or via manual registration. To be able to import and register delivery schedules via EDI, you must have the EDI option in MONITOR. However, it is fully viable to register delivery schedules manually without having this option.
Delivery schedules with Kanban
You can now manage delivery schedules in a Kanban scenario, whereby the customer regularly sends delivery schedules and forecasts. In the interim, the customer sends call off messages with fixed calls which correspond to the quantity on the "Kanban card".
Suggest best-before date
You can now configure settings which enable the system to suggest a best-before date when transfer to stock takes place for a manufacturing order. In a new field in the Part register procedure, you can enter a number of days from the reporting date which should be suggested as the best-before date.
You can also specify for the system to check the closest best-before date of material withdrawn for the order, and suggest it as the best-before date.
Cycle time and ineffective time in BOM and routing
Unit time can be handled via Cycle time and Ineffective time in BOM and routing. Cycle time is the productive time in the operation in which the ineffective time is not included. The shorter the cycle time, the greater the production rate. Ineffective time means the time which is necessary in the operation, but is not directly productive. This is activated by the system setting "Use cycle time and ineffective time in BOM and routing". Other affected procedures include, for example, Print manufacturing order and Operation list. You can enter a default ineffective time for the work center in the Work center register procedure.
Follow up on all activities in a list
You can now find a list which is used to simplify the follow-up of all activities concerning, for example, customers, suppliers, projects, cases.
Code scanner in mobile units
You can use the mobile device's camera as code scanner in part number fields in different procedures.
