Gaston Components AB is a young company with modern machinery. Its staff has vast experience of the manufacturing industry. It has production units in Borås, Sweden, and in Ukraine. The company is specialized in precision engineering of milled and turned parts in aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel. Its focus is to stand out in customer service, quality, and perseverance. Companies within telecom, laser system, medical technology, and other precision mechanics can be found among its customer base. Most of its customers are located in Sweden.

After using MONITOR G5 for about a year, we contacted Gaston Components to see how everything is going with G5. Our first question was "Why did you upgrade to G5?"

“We were already using MONITOR, and I had experience of MONITOR from previous companies. During the fall of 2019, the functionality we had been waiting for in G5 was completed and we decided to upgrade,” says Fredrik Claesson, owner and Managing Director. "G5 is faster and easier to use. In G4, the part register was divided between different modules, while in G5 there is only one part register. It is easy to design your own documents, and the function to create custom reports gives great flexibility. It is also convenient to be able to use several screens when working in MONITOR."

Gaston uses MONITOR for production planning, attendance and machine recording, as well as for all its administration. Three people at Gaston use MONITOR daily for BOM and routing, production planning, and administration. MONITOR is used for attendance and machine recording in production.

The actual upgrade to G5 took about three days. Monitor's consultant also participated and performed training and conversion. The only difference the staff in production have noticed is the layout of the recording terminal.

“Even though we are a small Monitor customer, we have received top service from them, and they really listen to us. Sometimes you find a company that you like at once, and Monitor is such a company. Monitor's consultants have experience from the manufacturing industry, which means they understand our business well. Consultants from other system suppliers often have great system knowledge, but they do not have knowledge about the actual manufacturing industry,” says Claesson.

“MONITOR G5 is an important tool in our business, which helps us to control our processes. Our next step is to see if their daily management can help us in our day-to-day planning. This fall, we will implement MONITOR Machine Integration. We will also implement MONITOR G5 in our subsidiary in Ukraine. MONITOR G5 is a system that we can grow with,” Fredrik adds.
